Program/Project Development and Management (4 days)
This course is designed for program managers and leaders of People’s Organizations. This covers the whole program/project cycle from program/project conceptualization and planning to monitoring and evaluation. MASAI shares success stories and lessons of programs and projects implemented in the different communities in the Philippines.
Institutional Development and Management (5 days)
This course is for senior and mid-level development managers. This tackles development issues and the role of development institutions. This course is also designed to provide development managers with theories and technology in setting-up development institutions and managing them.
Training Development and Management (5 days)
This course is conducted for organizations which seek to develop their staff as trainers. Among the topics tackled in this training are the conduct of a training need assessment (TNA), developing appropriate training design and methods, visual aids development for maximum impact and evaluation format.
Fund Management (4 days)
This course is designed for senior and mid-level development managers and finance officers. This course provides the participants with theories and techniques on how to appropriately manage organizational resources.
Strategic Planning (4 days)
Strategic planning sets the direction of the organization. MASAI facilitates the organizational constituents to sit down and analyze the organization’s environment, define organization’s niche in the whole gamut of development work and its long term goals and objectives. The aim is to unite the constituents on a common strategic plan. In the process, even if conflicts arise, unity can still be achieved because the constituents believe in the same long-term direction.
Medium Term Planning (3 days)
Every organization which undergo the process of long-term direction setting needs to put some flesh to its abstract vision. After setting the organization’s direction, the Medium Term Plan (MTP) provides the link between the long term direction of the organization and its immediate concerns. This plan is time-bound.
Strategy Review (4 days)
The environment of the organization changes through time. A dynamic organization needs to adapt to its changing environment. To respond and manage this change, MASAI facilitates workshop on Strategic Review and Re-planning. This is a continuous process. This provides a venue for the organizational stakeholders to study its external and internal environment and suit its strategies and structure to these changes in order to be to be effective and efficient.
Participatory Monitoring Evaluation (4 days)
This course is designed for program/project managers and extension workers and PO leaders who have been implementing development programs/projects in the communities. This course design provides a venue for the program/project implementers to study the existing monitoring and evaluation schemes at the different level: community, program/project organization. Formulation of appropriate monitoring and evaluation schemes by the program implementers shall also be facilitated. Indicators for particular projects and programs validated by MASAI through its experience since 1987 in evaluation work will be shared.
